柔柔的老師邀學生家長在感恩節前夕，寫秘密情書(love letter)給自己的孩子。然後老師在課堂上唸每封情書給全班同學聽，給小朋友們驚喜。
老師建議家長們給情書加上美美的裝飾，並必須遵循老師為情書內容設下的大綱。大綱包括: 讚揚孩子的成就、肯定孩子對未來所立的志願、有孩子同在的愉快時光、以及對孩子表達愛意。
以下是我們寫給柔的:
"Dear Princess Cheryl:
This is a letter for you from daddy and mommy. Just want to let you know how precious you are in our hearts.
You are doing a great job in school and at home. You were the Student of the Month and you have earned the Special Recognition Award for Citizenship. You got excellent grades in school. You also did really well in your piano class, your piano recital, and at AWANA. At home, you are a super helper. You helped taking care of your younger brother, and also helped with the chores. Daddy and mommy are extremely proud of you. Keep up the good work!
You often say you want to be a medical doctor when you grow up. Daddy and mommy think that is a wonderful goal. Doctors can help lots of people to get well from their illness, and that is a very meaningful thing to do.
We treasured the time we spent together. You brought us lots of happiness and fun memories. We enjoyed the time we were together in Disneyland, Texas, park, zoo, overseas, etc. We also think you did a great job hosting family birthday parties and gatherings. You made our parties more fun.
You are forever our sweet princess. We love you very much. We thank God for giving you to us. May you be happy and be healthy. Remember, daddy and mommy are always here for you. We love you very much.
